Managing Director
David Arenas is a Managing Director in Reilly Partners’ Chicago office. He has successfully completed senior level searches including Board of Director, CEO, President and General Managers, as well as, functional heads and directors of Finance including CFO, Treasurer, Controller, Financial Planning, Tax, Audit, and Corporate Development. His industry experience includes work with clients in financial services (consumer financial services, corporate and investment banking, and insurance), industrial/energy, consumer and technology. His keen awareness of the importance of diversity and inclusion for his clients is reflected on his approach to every search assignment. David was named one of “100 Hispanic Influentials in 2010” by Hispanic Business Magazine.
David joined Reilly Partners from Spencer Stuart, one of the leading international executive search firms, also based in their Chicago office. Moreover, he brings more than 10 years of investment banking and financial services experience to Reilly Partners. As an investment banker, David covered and advised global and middle market clients on a range of financial and strategic transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, divestments, private equity, equity public offerings, commercial banking, loan syndications and structured finance. David's client coverage and industry expertise concentrated primarily in the technology services, natural resources and power, energy technology, industrial and communications and media sectors.
David was a managing director of Blue Beacon Capital, an investment banking boutique focused on providing advisory services to telecommunications, media and technology clients. Previously, David helped establish and lead SG Cowen's global technology services and energy technology practices. Prior to SG Cowen, David worked in Chicago and New York for JPMorgan Securities, providing investment banking services to global industrial and natural resources and power clients.
David has an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management and a master's degree in engineering management from the McCormick School of Engineering, both at Northwestern University. He earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and attended the University of Guadalajara in Mexico.
