Our Search Process

We utilize a focused and proven search process, split into five key phases. This process is flexible to suit each client’s specific needs:

Assess Organization and Position

We will work closely with you to understand your hiring needs. By speaking with key decision makers and successful leaders within your organization we develop a targeted search strategy, success profile, and position specification.

Research Process

We conduct extensive research to create our list of target prospects. In the early days as we begin engaging with those targets on the phone, we will be communicating with you extensively to make certain that we are on track. At the 20 day mark, we will prepare our Market Analysis Report to share our “long list” of interested candidates whom we think look most promising.

Candidate Review

After working with you to winnow down our “long list” we jump on planes, trains, or in our cars to perform in-depth, in-person assessments of our top prospects. From there we recommend our short list of finalists, coordinate client interviews, and stay hands on with you and the candidates at every turn. At this stage (or earlier) we also assist in evaluating and benchmarking any internal candidates you wish to be included in the process.

Final Candidates

We counsel the client in making finalist recommendations, and assist with structuring an offer to the final candidate. We also conduct comprehensive candidate background, reference checks, and mediate negotiation of acceptance. We then communicate with everyone we have engaged along the way – closing the loop and leaving everyone feeling positive about our process and your organization.

Final Negotiations and Closing

Ongoing follow-ups with client and successful candidate to assure an effective transition, paving the way for a smooth, successful execution and a long-term relationship.

Executive Assessment

Reilly Partners is committed to bringing science to the art of executive search by assuring that our client’s investment is the right and best investment. Our leadership assessment is an additional offering to the in person assessment. This process is designed to identify a candidate’s business and functional expertise, leadership abilities, marketplace and industry knowledge, character and cultural fit, and capacity to grow and change with the job.

Board Consulting

Reilly Partners has a dedicated practice specializing in Board Consulting and Director Search. We understand the importance of establishing and maintaining strong corporate governance. We work collaboratively with the Nominating Committee to recruit Directors with strong, independent, and effective leadership skills that will encourage and strengthen the Board and create sustained competitive advantage.

Private Equity Leadership

We focus on serving private equity sponsors and their platform companies. In addition to executing high-caliber talent recruitment, our firm also facilitates introductions to executives (Private Equity Leaders) with a detailed thesis who are looking to partner with a sponsor.
